Join DJ, professor, and podcaster Oliver Wang (NPR, Heat Rocks) as he interviews Joe Bataan about his life and career.

Joe Bataan is one of the pioneers of Latin Boogaloo, an exciting mix of rhythms and traditions from Puerto Rico and Cuba with American R&B and soul. From “Ordinary Guy” to “Afro-Filipino” to his own versions of “Gypsy Woman” and “The Bottle” and to “Rap-O-Clap-O,” Joe Bataan has been on the cutting edges of music since the late 1960s. He continues to perform throughout the Americas, Europe, and Asia.
