Join in on an extraordinary virtual experience for the mind, body and soul called "forest bathing", led by
Joseph Sage Raindancer of RainDancer Healing Arts.  Forest bathing is based on the Japanese practice of shirin-yoku, which translates to "breathing in the essence of the forest."  Forest bathing is a slow paced saunter that can help one connect to nature and one's surroundings, and is meant to make you more self-aware of the world around you (its sights, sounds, and smells).

Sage began his path as a certified guide in 2018 with the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy. From his time as a Guide in Training to becoming a Certified Guide, Sage has led walks and/or collaborated with members of Corazon Latino, Parks RX America, Unity Health Care, US Forest Service, National Park Service, & Montgomery Parks in Montgomery County, MD.

Carefully read the below guidelines to ensure proper participation.

Please find a place in nature that you feel comfortable in, be it your backyard, balcony, or a park near your home where you can be for 30 minutes.  Remember to please continue to practice social distancing from others that are not in your household if you do go to a public space.  If you can’t leave your home, perhaps a window where you can see nature from, or even an indoor plant.  I will be in nature close to my home and will be providing instructions.

Feel free to invite your family members, however, it will be important that they have a phone and earphones/ear buds so they can listen to me throughout the walk.  Also, have with you a glass or bottle of water.

you'll need one headphone in your ear, listening to the presenter and the other ear listening to what is around you in nature.  Please ensure your phone is charged.

Before the walk the instructor will offer clear instructions on how to participate.

For those able to be outside, please dress appropriately for the weather in your area and maybe a little warmer than usual since you will be moving slowly and possibly sitting on the ground. Having a small mat, bag, or cushion to sit on can also be nice.

Group Etiquette
Please practice Group Etiquette by keeping your phone on mute unless invited to share. Depending on the number of people who have joined, the instructor may have you share, using the Group Chat feature in Zoom.
In order to ensure the best experience for everyone, please commit to fully participate while you are on the group call and refrain from answering texts or emails.
