Details | We are joining the National Air and Space Museum to celebrate and observe the solar eclipse, visible across North America on April 8! In collaboration with Smithsonian museums, NASA, NOAA, and the National Science Foundation, NASM presents an outdoor festival with activities for all ages. Stop by our table on the Mall across from the Smithsonian Castle to learn all about the light sensitivity of objects in our collections. Test your knowledge of how materials react to light, learn about NMAA’s light guidelines, and walk away with a better understanding of why we shield our eyes during an eclipse. Then, embark on a scavenger hunt inside the museum to find solar- and lunar-themed artwork!
