Details | On Saturday, June 22, 2024, the National Museum of African American History and Culture will host an interactive District Treasures: Celebrating Black Music Month program. Register to attend a one-on-one session with preservation specialists and receive a professional review of your family treasures heirlooms. Attendees will gain insight on the historical significance of their items and learn best practices to assist in preserving their personal collections for generations to come. The June 22nd session will focus on objects, ephemera, photos, books, papers, and textiles. Guests are encouraged but not required to share items related to Black music (i.e., gospel, the blues, R&B, rock and roll, jazz, pop, rap, hip-hop, country and more). The program will begin with a Conversation with Mad Skillz and serves as an educational enrichment opportunity for individuals and families.
