Details | Back by popular demand, join Artist and Doll-maker, Francine Haskins, for a doll-making workshop with hand-stitched soft sculpture, mixed-media fiber dolls. Participants will use fabric, yarn, and a mixture of adornments to create their dolls. Dolls are created to tell a triumphant story of their life or the life of someone they know. Basic sewing knowledge is helpful but not required. Spaces are limited. Registration is required. Participants should bring the following: - A basic sewing kit (scissors, needle, thread, straight pins, pin cushion, etc.)
- Any fabric and adornments they would like to incorporate on the doll.
Francine Haskins, a D.C. native, is an American multi-media fiber artist and book illustrator. She was one of the original founders of 1800 Belmont Arts, an African- American black art collective in Washington, D.C. |
